Tummy Tuck

(Abdominoplasty)

As our body experiences dramatic changes through weight fluctuations, pregnancies, surgery, or aging, our abdomens can lose their smooth, toned profile. A tummy tuck, or abdominoplasty, can help to restore your more youthful contours. During the procedure, an incision is created along your pelvis, where excess fat and skin are removed, and, in most cases, weakened or separated muscles are repaired. A tummy tuck, however, does not correct stretch marks, although they may be improved with the removal of excess skin.

Your results will be permanent; however, a tummy tuck is ideal if your weight is stable and are finished with pregnancies as dramatic abdominal changes most likely will reverse the results. After the procedure, you will experience one to two weeks of rest, with up to a month of recovery time. Your final results will be more visible and satisfying once any swelling decreases and your recovery is complete. Dr. Atchison will provide all the details necessary to determine if this procedure is right for you.
